Tumor Cell Secretomes in Response to Anti- and Pro-Tumorigenic Agents

چکیده
Tumor cells regulate their progression not only by the factors within cell bodies but also secretome they produce and secrete. While significantly alters fate of tumor themselves, growth surrounding including both companion cancer non-cancer cells. consists varying molecules that have been reported mostly tumor-promotive. Furthermore, pro-tumor capability is enhanced application chemotherapeutic agents. However, multiple lines emerging evidence suggest can be tumor-suppressive in response to paracrine endocrine signaling. This review introduces tumor-promotive secretomes, focusing on multi-tasking proteins intracellular extracellular domains. We describe tumorigenic signaling governs nature discuss possibility inducing proteomes as a novel option for treatment. evaluated counterintuitive procedure generate from unique type tumor-modifying cells, which are named “induced tumor-suppressing cells” (iTSCs).

Rapamycin Response in Tumorigenic and Non-Tumorigenic Hepatic Cell Lines
BACKGROUND The mTOR inhibitor rapamycin has anti-tumor activity across a variety of human cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma. However, resistance to its growth inhibitory effects is common. We hypothesized that hepatic cell lines with varying rapamycin responsiveness would show common characteristics accounting for resistance to the drug. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS We profiled a ...
متن کاملDecreased T Cell Response to Mitogen and Increased Anti-cytoplasmic Antibody in Drug-Free Schizophrenic Patients
Background: Apart from genetic and environmental factors, activation of autoreactive mechanisms has been proposed to play a role in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. In re-cent years, considerable work has been carried out to understand the role and contribution of the immune system in this disease. Objective: To investigate the T cell response to phytohaemagglutinin (PHA) and determine the se...
متن کاملCell, Tumor, and Stem Cell Biology Deletion of PTEN Promotes Tumorigenic Signaling, Resistance to Anoikis, and Altered Response to Chemotherapeutic Agents in Human Mammary Epithelial Cells
Many cancers, including breast cancer, harbor loss-of-function mutations in the catalytic domain of phosphatase and tensin homologue deleted on chromosome 10 (PTEN) or have reduced PTEN expression through loss of heterozygosity and/or epigenetic silencing mechanisms. However, specific phenotypic effects of PTEN inactivation in human cancer cells remain poorly defined without a direct causal con...
متن کاملAnti-Proliferative, Anti-Oxidant and Pro-apoptotic Effect of Alcoholic Extract of lavender in HepG2 cell lines
Background: Liver cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the world and is therefore a major public health challenge. In recent years, many of the drugs used in the treatment of many malignancies and cancers have been of plant origin. Lavender extract has been shown to have therapeutic effects in various cancers. Therefore, the biological effects of ethanolic extract of lavender ...
متن کاملpotential of mesenchymal stem cell based application in cancer.
stem cell based treatments are being increasingly explored for their possible potential to treat various cancers. mesenchymal stem cells believed to possess anti-tumor potential and are preferred for their properties like immune privileged nature, ability to migrate to the site of tumor and capability for multilineage differentiation. this tumor tropism property of mscs could be utilized to del...
